We ended our trip to Kauai celebrating Father's Day flying home. (Not a fun way to celebrate such a special day.) Baby Kate surprised her daddy with a cooking class called "Grilling Great Meats" at Sur La Table as well as a picture for his desk.
Happy Father's Day Mike, you are an AMAZING daddy and husband. You're one in a million and Kate is lucky to have you as a dad. We LOVE you! (A happy Father's Day to Papa as well!)

We had an amazing week in Kauai with Little Miss! It was so much fun taking her to one of our favorite places. She was such an angel the flight over (not so much on the way home!). We spent a lot more time in the shade and indoors this year, but still enjoyed ourselves so very much. Miss Kate enjoyed splashing in the pools, but wasn't too fond of the ocean or the sand (picky little thing!). We enjoyed every meal and simply had fun relaxing as a family.
Our little Miss Kate is already 6 months old! Wow, where has the time gone? We visited both the gastro-specialist and pediatrician. Lil Miss is able to begin foods...yippee! We started with rice cereal and have moved on to carrots. I am trying to make all of her food from scratch and organic. She doesn't seem to be keen on the eating thing...hopefully in time. Summer has been off to a great start, especially swimming in Nonni's pool! We are looking forward to heading to Kauai in a few days…wish us luck!

I had an absolutely wonderful 1st Mother's Day! We spent the morning at Nonni's house with Nonni, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Andy, Aunt Denny and Emmy. It was fun celebrating the day with a delicious breakfast with family. Miss Kate managed to sleep most of the time, but was sure enjoyable during her waking moments! After we got home, Mike surprised me with a picnic in the afternoon. (Daddy and Kate sure did a wonderful job planning an amazing Mother's Day picnic!) Mike made it perfect....champagne, strawberries, shrimp, bruschetta, and my favorite cookies! Kate even picked out a new Coach purse for me:) The day was simply AMAZING. I am so lucky to be the mommy of such a special little girl.
We went to the doctor today for Kate's 4 month appointment. She's right on track with everything and is perfect!!! Poor little girl had 4 shots today, but did great (I think it was worse for Mommy!). Our pediatrician said that she should be sleeping about 10 hours a night-WHAT!!! Hopefully we can wean her off her late night feeding and get on track with more sleep.

This was my first full week back at work and boy it was tough!!! I never knew how hard it would be to go back to work after having a baby. I was very lucky to be home with her for 15 weeks. Only 9 weeks to go before summer vacation. My colleagues were so supportive and knew it was a hard week for me! We are looking forward to a great weekend ahead and enjoying the beautiful spring days!
We had a great St. Patrick's Day last week, we even took Lil' Miss out to dinner to celebrate!
February was a great month for us. I never knew that I could love someone as much as I do this little girl! I knew when I fell in love with Mike it was such an amazing feeling...but having a child such an INCREDIBLE love! We had a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with love! We also celebrated Mike's birthday and he got a new camera and loves taking pictures of our princess!
Things we love about Kate:
I am a new mom, loving wife and 5th grade teacher! I am married to the love of my life and am looking forward to beginning the next chapter of our lives as parents.
